Welcome to Year 1 - Palm and Chestnut !
Its our last term together, this year is speeding by.
Mrs Burge, Mrs Richmond and Mrs Rolling really like the summer term and our topic about The Great Outdoors. We have had a fantastic visit from Mr Gribblybugs and his amazing creatures and we've just enjoyed a fabulous, but very tiring day, at Wollaton Hall to find out about fossils and dinosaurs. See the pictures below!!!
Remember it is so important to continue to read regularly and practice your phoneme recognition. Be like a detective and try to spot them in your reading books! Also practise your rocket words by putting them into sentences. You can also practise words from old rockets to see if you can remember them as well this will help in your daily writing.
Finally, you will need to choose the things you are going to attempt from our homework menu which you can find below...soon!!
Thank you to all the children who did some fantastic homework last term,
some of which is on display at the entrance to 1 Palm. Let's hope we get lots more to fill the wall this term!!
Completed homework can be brought in to school anytime from Monday 22nd May – deadline for completion is Thursday 28th May
I can read the time to the hour and half hour !!

Please remember that children should bring water, in a water bottle, which they can drink throughout the day.
This should be taken home, washed and refilled daily. Thank you.
Both Palm and Chestnut have outdoor PE on Wednesdays.
Indoor PE is now on Tuesdays for Chestnut and Fridays for Palm.
Children should bring their kit and keep it on their pegs for the week.
Please can we also ask all earrings (plus any other jewellery items) are removed prior to school on these days .
On Thursday afternoons your child will have the opportunity to change their library book.
Please ensure they bring their book in to avoid disappointment.
