Design and Technology involves children drawing upon six principles through a project with real-life learning opportunities. This approach gives the children chance to appeal to the content and provide them a meaningful purpose.
During each term the children will access a project brief and
be given research and discovery opportunities to explore and develop creative, technical and practical knowledge.
A variety of lessons will allow them to build and develop skills through focused tasks. These vital tasks will provide influence as the children build and apply a repertoire of knowledge, understanding and skills which they can apply to their design and go on to make high-quality prototypes and products for a wide range of users.
Whether independently or collaboratively, once products are completed, they will critique, evaluate and test their ideas and products and the work of others and share potential improvements for future designs.
