L2 Teaching Assistant– Fixed Term, 1 Academic Year, 25 hours per week

 

Note that we operate Nottingham City Pay Grades. L2 has a current pay grade of £19,171 - £21,166 FTE pro-rata based on term time working.

 

The Governors are seeking to appoint a talented qualified Teaching Assistant to work 25 hours per week.

 

The post will be fixed term temporary, for one academic year, pending budget and  a review of the staffing structure for 2020-21.

 

The post will as part of a new Early Years/Key Stage 1 Support Team. Work will include day to day general classroom support and support of individuals or groups. At least part of the working week will involve working in our ‘Saplings Room’, nurture provision for our younger children with the most complex needs. This will involve aspects of personal care for some children.

The successful candidate must be fully qualified as a Teaching Assistant (NVQ Level 2 or higher) and have GCSE Mathematics and English grade A – C (or equivalent). Commitment to raising standards and willingness to participate in the full life of the school are essential.

 

The successful candidate will need to:

 

  • Have a naturally nurturing approach and the enthusiasm to continually explore new and innovative approaches to teaching and learning

 

  • Be a confident and caring person who has ideally already spent time in a role working closely with young children (aged 5 – 8)

 

  • Be adaptable enough to consider working in any Early years or KS1 year group.

 

  • Have a clear understanding of how children learn.

 

  • Have the flexibility to cope with changeable circumstances and the drive to succeed in challenging situations

 

  • Be able to communicate well in writing and have a good understanding of written and spoken grammar and the English language

 

  • Be committed to inclusion & able to work with other agencies &  our SENCo

 

  • Be dedicated to making a difference for our children & to celebrate their success

 

  • Have a sense of humour, perspective and a positive outlook

 

  • Enjoy the job and be part of our friendly and supportive team
